Sentinel staff report–
Motorists traveling on Auburn Boulevard Friday morning found both directions of the roadway shut down between Greenback Lane and Manzanita Avenue, after a collision knocked down wires over the road.

Citrus Heights Police Sgt. William Dunning said in an emailed statement to media that the collision occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. Officers arrived and found two utility poles and lines down blocking Auburn Boulevard near Shadow Lane.

Photos from the scene posted by police on Twitter showed Comcast crews working to repair the downed lines. The roadway was reopened shortly before 10 a.m.

Dunning said preliminary evidence indicated the incident was a hit-and-run collision.
