Sentinel staff report–
Responding to a dramatic slowdown in economic activity from coronavirus mitigation efforts, the City of Citrus Heights has launched a new campaign to encourage residents to shop at essential local businesses that remain open.
The campaign included a direct mailer sent to all households in the city last week, along with an updated web page at citrusheights.net/shoplocal where more than 80 restaurants that remain open are listed. The page also includes two businesses that are offering COVID-19 masks for sale: Extreme Stitch Embroidery and Signs in 1 Day.
Joining in to support local businesses, All Star Printing at 7920 Alta Sunrise Ave., is also offering to print a free 4-by-6-foot banner for any open businesses that are in need of some extra visibility. The company posted the offer on its Facebook page on April 7.
More than 35 other businesses offering essential services are also listed on the city’s website, and the city is seeking to add more to the list. Businesses not already on the list are asked to email hreid@citrusheights.net.
