Local Citrus Heights grocery store and gas station locations are dedicating specific hours of the work day to “Senior Shopping” times for those most at-risk during the coronavirus pandemic.
Stores across the country have announced special senior shopping hours, including local stores in Citrus Heights. In a Facebook post on Thursday, the City of Citrus Heights listed over a dozen stores currently offering “special services” for seniors.
Times, dates and locations are included below:
Walmart, 7010 Auburn Blvd. Tuesdays, 6-7 a.m.
Walmart Market, 6197 Sunrise Blvd. Tuesdays, 6-7 a.m.
Safeway, 7301 Greenback Ln. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 a.m.
Dollar General, 7963 Auburn Blvd. Daily, 8-9 a.m.
Costco, 7000 Auburn Blvd. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m.
Target, 5837 Sunrise Blvd. Wednesdays, 8-9 a.m.
FoodMaxx, 6982 Sunrise Blvd. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 a.m.
99 Cents Store, 7424 Greenback Ln. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8 a.m.
Sam’s Club, 7147 Greenback Ln. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 a.m.
Dollar Tree, 7859 Lichen Drive, 6085/7313 Greenback Ln. Daily, 9-10 a.m.
Rite Aid, 5409 Sunrise Blvd., 9-10 a.m. weekdays.
Drive-thru pharmacy services are also available at Walgreen’s locations at 6199 Sunrise Blvd. and 6144 Dewey Drive. The Rite Aid at 6661 Auburn Blvd. also offers drive-thru service.
Additionally, Pastor’s Valero Gas station at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Old Auburn Road is offering full-service fill-ups at no additional charge. The service is available between 8-10 a.m. daily for anyone age 65 and over, or those who are immunocompromised.
