A 20-year-old Citrus Heights woman on probation was among three suspects arrested Friday after allegedly leaving a Big Lots store in Vacaville with a shopping cart filled with nearly $1,200 in items they didn’t pay for.
Cherridy Colter, of Citrus Heights, was identified as a suspect in the incident by Vacaville police, along with 21-year-old Kayla Gipson and 18-year-old Deonte Belle, both of Sacramento.

“Shelter at home apparently translated to ‘steal a bunch of stuff’ for these folks,” the Vacaville Police Department said in a Facebook post on Sunday. The department said the trio drove off after loading up at Big Lots and then proceeded to a nearby Walgreens store, apparently ready to repeat the process.
An employee at Big Lots took down the suspect vehicle’s license plate, however, and officers located the vehicle outside Walgreens while the three “were exiting the car carrying empty bags, undoubtably getting ready to steal again,” police said.
Items from Big Lots were found in the car and were returned to the store. Stolen items shown in photos shared by police included Oreo cookies, toothbrushes, Nexium pills, Pepcid tablets, Flonase and other items.
All three suspects were charged with second-degree burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property. Police said Colter and Gipson were both on felony probation for a prior robbery in Sacramento County, earning them an extra charge for probation violation.
