Sentinel staff report–
Those looking for all-you-can-eat sampling of local food and beverages may find what they’re looking for at an upcoming “Taste of Citrus Heights” fundraiser on April 24.
The fourth annual event is hosted by the GFWC Citrus Heights Women’s Club and will be held at the Citrus Heights Community Center, where organizers say more than two dozen vendors have already signed up to offer food and drink samples to attendees.
Local eateries confirmed so far include Dos Coyotes Border Cafe, Crepes & Burgers, Beer Dogs, Beach Hut Deli, and Texas Roadhouse, among others. Beverages will also be available from Knee Deep Brewing Co., Boochcraft, Dark Heart Brewery, and Legado Whiskey.
Darla Buechner, president of the local women’s club, said live music will be provided by Toree McGee, a country-rock singer from Northern California. The event will also be emceed by Tina Machua from Good Day Sacramento.
Buechner said proceeds from the event will go to the local women’s club, which each year gives a portion of the proceeds towards supporting mental wellness efforts for police officers. She said Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among officers is “more than we acknowledge.”
Tickets for Taste of Citrus Heights run $40 per person and can be purchased online on the Citrus Heights Women’s Club website.
