Sentinel staff report–
Silver Dragon, a popular Chinese restaurant in the Sunrise Village Shopping center, closed its doors last month and has secured a lease agreement at a nearby shopping plaza.
“We have been blessed to serve you and your families for the past 30 years in this location and hope to see you again very soon,” a message taped on the door reads. The sign said a lease for the location could not be renewed, likely related to the shopping plaza being slated for major renovation.

The restaurant’s final day was Jan. 24, leaving loyal patrons without their favorite restaurant until the new location opens at 8116 Madison Ave.
Silver Dragon had earned an average rating of 4-out-of-5 stars from more than 300 reviewers on Yelp. Reviewers highlighted affordable prices and a large menu, noting popular dishes like pork fried rice, chow mein, hot and sour soup and various lunch specials.
The restaurant’s future location will be a little over a half-mile away, just outside the border of Citrus Heights. The site is in a shopping plaza on the southeast corner of Madison Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard, next to Caffe Italiano Ristorante.
The new location is slated to open in “about 6 months,” according to a notice to customers posted at Silver Dragon’s now-vacant former site.
