U-Haul van crashes into ‘unsuspecting garage’ in Citrus Heights

Metro Fire personnel were kept busy Monday evening in Citrus Heights after a U-Haul moving van crashed through a residential garage on Van Maren Lane.

In photos posted on Metro Fire’s social media accounts, fire crews can be seen using a specialized jack to stabilize the roof of the garage, and later shoring up the structure with wood supports as a temporary fix until permanent repairs are made.

#MetroFire responded to a ‘vehicle into residential structure’ this evening in Citrus Heights, where a U-haul went through an unsuspecting garage,” Metro Fire said in its post on Facebook.

The agency credited tools on its Type 1 Heavy Rescue unit, Rescue 21, with enabling first responders to assist using specialized tools and personnel. Rescue 21 is based out of Metro Fire Station 21 on Greenback Lane.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
