Frozen-themed Winter Festival in Citrus Heights postponed due to weather

Sentinel staff report–
Organizers announced Tuesday that plans for a Frozen Winter Festival on Nov. 30 in Citrus Heights have been pushed back to Dec. 21, due to weather.

The festival was originally scheduled as the second event in a three-event series known as Magical Moments, put on by Sunrise MarketPlace. The series kicked off with a Holiday Laser Light Show in the Lowe’s parking lot on Nov. 22.

The next event will be held on Dec. 18, from 5-7 p.m. in Macy’s Court at Sunrise Mall, where the Sac Civic Ballet will present a pair of Nutcracker performances.

The Frozen-themed Winter Festival will follow on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 12-3 p.m., at the Sunrise Village shopping plaza, located on the 5400 block of Sunrise Boulevard, near Madison Avenue.

The festival is scheduled to include a special appearance from Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff from the movie “Frozen,” as well as a pop-up carnival, a variety of games and activities, face painting, and a bounce house. Organizers say kids will also be able to have their picture taken with “Mr. and Mrs. Santa Mouse and the Christmas Bear.”

“Magical Moments” events are presented by the Sunrise MarketPlace, a business improvement district made up of more than 400 businesses located along Sunrise Boulevard between Arcadia Drive and Madison Avenue, and along Greenback Lane between Birdcage Street and Fair Oaks Boulevard. Each event is held at a different location within the business district.
