Updated Nov. 22, 5:13 p.m.–
By Rylie Friesen– Magical Moments is returning to Sunrise Marketplace with a series of three family-friendly activities, beginning with a Holiday Laser Light Show this Friday, Nov. 22, and a “Frozen” themed Winter Festival the following weekend.

The upcoming events are presented by the Sunrise MarketPlace, a business improvement district made up of more than 400 businesses located along Sunrise Boulevard between Arcadia Drive and Madison Avenue, and along Greenback Lane between Birdcage Street and Fair Oaks Boulevard. Each event planned this year will be held at different locations within the business district.

According to a press release, the Lowe’s parking lot near the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane will be converted into a “holiday rockin’ spectacle” for the Laser Light Show, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attractions will also include a laser tag arena, animated inflatables, food and hot beverage trucks. Light shows start at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

The Frozen-themed Winter Festival will take place from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Sunrise Village shopping plaza, located on the 5400 block of Sunrise Boulevard, near Madison Avenue. The festival is scheduled to include a special appearance from Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff from the movie “Frozen,” as well as a pop-up carnival, a variety of games and activities, face painting, and a bounce house. Organizers say kids will also be able to have their picture taken with “Mr. and Mrs. Santa Mouse and the Christmas Bear.”

At each event, attendees will also have a chance to win a $250 gift card and climb into a “Giant Magical Moments Human Snow Globe to take your Magical Memorable Moment,” the news release says.

Sunrise MarketPlace will wrap up its “Magical Moments” series with Sac Civic Ballet Nutcracker performances on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m in Macy’s Court at the Sunrise Mall. The first 100 children will receive a hardback Nutcracker book. Activities also include Nutcracker character appearances, a background photo op, as well as a “meet & greet” with ballet dancers from the performance.
