Crews work to extend turn lanes near Greenback/Sunrise
Construction crews have been out extending turn lanes around Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane, in advance of construction beginning on the 260-unit Mitchell Farms housing development on Arcadia Drive. The lane extensions were a condition of development to help accommodate increased traffic from the new homes.
Police: 3 arrested for DUI at weekend checkpoint
Citrus Heights police conducted a DUI and drivers license checkpoint on Antelope Road at Lauppe Lane on Friday night, resulting in 807 vehicles being stopped, three DUI arrests, 32 citations, and 10 vehicle tows. Traffic Sgt. Sean Gualco said a total of 11 suspended drivers were also cited, along with six unlicensed drivers. Police identified those arrested as: Rick Musselman, 45, of Citrus Heights; Chase McWilliams, 27, of Citrus Heights; and Sukhjit Pabla, 26, of Antelope.
City to host open house for transportation safety program
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. the City of Citrus Heights will be hosting a “Multi Modal Transportation Safety Program” open house at the Citrus Heights Community Center. The program seeks to develop a tool for addressing safety concerns and improvements related to roadways in neighborhoods. (See flier)
