Latest police logs in Citrus Heights include a burglary suspect attempting to steal a non-operational vehicle, multiple petty theft reports at various businesses, and a report of a counterfeit one dollar bill.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Oct. 9, 2019. Additional logs are linked below.
Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019: Total of 64 incidents reported. Incident report categories of note: 9 calls regarding suspicious activities, 14 disturbance-related, 11 homeless-related, 10 petty thefts, 1 grand theft, 2 burglaries, 3 assault reports, 1 hit-and-run collision.
12:44 a.m., Driving Under the Influence, Sunrise/Madison. A black Honda Accord was reportedly observed travelling near Sunrise Boulevard and Madison Avenue, with the driver “unable to maintain lanes” and nearly hitting other vehicles on multiple occasions.
7:13 a.m., Reckless Driving, Antelope/I-80. Police were advised that a grey Toyota Corolla was refusing to let another driver pass and was “brake checking” the other vehicle, nearly causing a collision.
8:36 a.m., Reckless Driving, Mauana/Sayonara. Two subjects on motorized bikes were reportedly driving recklessly on Sayonara Drive and crashed into a woman. No injuries were reported.
12:40 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Walmart on Auburn Blvd. A woman said she believed she had received a “counterfeit one dollar bill” from the Subway restaurant inside Walmart.
12:47 p.m., Grand Theft, Victoria’s Secret at Sunrise Mall. Three women reportedly filled garbage bags full of merchandise at Victoria’s Secret and then fled on foot. Video of the incident was aired by multiple TV news outlets. The incident was listed as a “petty theft” in police incident logs, but according to Fox 40, the theft involved more than $6,000 of merchandise. Thefts over $950 are considered felony grand theft.
1:22 p.m., Burglary, Imperial Manor Mobile Home Park on Auburn Blvd. Police were advised that unknown suspect(s) stole tools and other items from a residence and then loaded them into a non-running vehicle on the property and unsuccessfully tried to steal the vehicle.
1:37 p.m., Petty Theft, Stones Casino on Antelope Rd. A player at Stones Casino said he believed another player had “played on his money,” due to a mix-up with the dealer. The player said the response from Stones’ management was unsatisfactory. The loss involved was listed at $22.
3:46 p.m., Homeless Camp, Brookhaven Wy. Police were contacted after a bonfire was started at a homeless camp in a greenbelt near Brookhaven Way.
4:24 p.m., Petty Theft, Walgreens at Greenback/Sunrise. A Blue Rhino propane cage was reportedly broken into at Walgreens, with one propane tank taken.
5:12 p.m., Hit and Run, Antelope/Mariposa. A driver reported being rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver on Antelope Road. A third vehicle was also involved. The driver said she had hit her head, but was not bleeding.
5:59 p.m., Petty Theft, Kittery Ave. Two teenagers reportedly came to the door of a residence and asked if they could mow the lawn. After the resident declined, a neighbor said they had seen the teens steal a large bag of recyclables from an open trailer in the resident’s yard.
