Brazen suspects make off with over $6k in goods from Victoria’s Secret
Multiple news outlets ran video on Thursday showing thieves stuffing trash bags full of merchandise at Victoria’s Secret in Sunrise Mall, as bystanders watched. At least one suspect did not even try to cover her face. According to Fox40, the value of items stolen was listed at more than $6,000. (See video)
Invasive mosquitoes found in Citrus Heights now spread to Antelope
Vector control officials are warning that an invasive mosquito species that was recently found in Citrus Heights has now been found in nearby Antelope. Residents are advised to report any day-biting mosquitoes and to also drain any standing water. (See news release)
Suspect identified in fatal hit-and-run that killed Citrus Heights man
The suspect accused of fatally hitting an elderly Citrus Heights man who was walking his wife across the street near McClellan Park has been identified as 70-year-old William Nathaniel Beasley, of Antelope. According to online inmate records, Beasley is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail. (See Sacbee story for more)
Obituary: James Ryan Azbill, Sr. (1933-2019)
Citrus Heights resident James Azbill passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, according to an obituary published in The Sacramento Bee on Saturday. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he married and moved to Fair Oaks, eventually starting Woodcraft Fence Co. and then owning a cattle ranch, before settling into the Big Oak Mobile Home Park in Citrus Heights. Services will be held Oct. 20 at noon, at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park. (See full obituary)
