Roseville considers following Citrus Heights with switch to district-based elections
The Roseville City Council heard a presentation on Wednesday from staff regarding the potential to split the city into five voting districts, a move that would follow the City of Citrus Heights’ decision to do so earlier this year. The shift away from at-large elections for council members has been spurred by threats of lawsuits, which allege at-large elections disenfranchise minority voters. (See SacBee story)

Golden State Killer makes court appearance
Joseph DeAngelo, the Citrus Heights resident suspected of being the infamous Golden State Killer, made a brief court appearance on Thursday as his lawyers called for a delay in court proceedings until next year due to “volumes” of evidence being reviewed. The Sacramento Bee reported that his next court appearance will be Jan. 22, 2020. (See story)

Obituary: David Dunning (1949-2019)
David Dunning passed away on Aug. 8 at age 69 at his home in Citrus Heights, according to an obituary published in The Sacramento Bee last week. Dunning retired in 2004 from Crystal Cream and Butter. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, and two grown children. (See obituary)
