Latest police logs include reports of a transient man building a barricade out of dumpsters, multiple reports of reckless driving, and a dental office reporting harassing phone calls being received with sexually oriented messages.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Aug. 14, 2019. Additional logs are linked below.
Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019: Total of 72 incidents reported. Incident report categories of note: 12 calls regarding suspicious activities, 10 disturbance-related, 4 homeless-related, 4 petty thefts, 5 burglaries, 6 reports of reckless driving, 9 collisions, and 7 reports of suspicious vehicles.
1:40 a.m., Burglary, Lakeview Village Mobile Home on Summerset Ln. A transient was reportedly caught trying to break into a clubhouse. He fled on a bike, wearing a yellow reflective vest and carrying a bag of cans.
7:00 a.m., Harassing Phone Calls, Osorio Dental Care on San Juan Ave. A caller told police they were receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown source, who was reportedly “making sexual comments and leaving sexual messages.”
9:49 a.m., Criminal Threats, Stearman Wy. Police were contacted by a caller who said someone was threatening to shoot their dogs.
10:34 a.m., Burglary, Canvasback Ln. A caller reported finding their door open and their water heater tampered with.
1:13 p.m., Homeless Camp, Signs In One Day on Auburn Blvd. A transient man was reportedly seen setting up camp and pulling “two dumpsters together to create a barricade.”
3:08 p.m., Reckless Driving, Rosswood Dr/Grand Oaks. Police were advised that a red Nissan 300zx was seen “speeding and doing donuts” on Rosswood Drive near Grand Oaks Boulevard.
4:34 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Cloverleaf Way. Police were contacted by a resident who said his power had had been shut off, under suspicious circumstances. The man said he was able to manually turn his power on after calling SMUD, who had advised him they had not turned off the power.
4:56 p.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Jack In The Box at Auburn/Greenback. Police were called after a man was reportedly run over by a truck he was pushing. Additional details were not listed.
6:03 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Safe Credit Union at Old Auburn/Sunrise. A suspect reportedly transferred fraudulent money into an account, and then tried to withdraw it.
10:01 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Target on Sunrise Blvd. A woman contacted police after she was reportedly approached in the Target parking lot by someone in a car who asked if she had a boyfriend. The woman called her husband who walked up to the car and was told by the driver that what he was doing “was not illegal.” The driver was also observed approaching other people in the parking lot.
11:09 p.m., Reckless Driving, Dutch Bros Coffee on Madison Avenue. Police were contacted after several vehicles were reportedly seen speeding through the parking lot, narrowly missing pedestrians.
11:17 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Birchwood Cr. Police were contacted after an arson suspect was seen in the area. The suspect was described as a white male adult with blond hair, who reportedly had started a fire earlier in the day but had not been able to be located by police.
