Citrus Heights City Council members will meet Thursday night for their regularly scheduled twice-per-month meeting, but the smaller-than-usual 34-page agenda packet indicates the meeting will likely be short — with only one item listed for consideration.
The May 9 meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, will kick off with a proclamation recognizing May 19-25, 2019 as National Public Works Week. A presentation from Sacramento Regional Transit will follow, regarding changes to the transit network.
The sole action item, apart from routine approval of meeting minutes from recent meetings, involves a staff recommendation to approve a contract for financial audits with Lance Soll and Lunghad, LLP (LSL), a Southern California-based CPA and advisor group with a local office in Sacramento. The proposed contract includes for three years of annual audit services, with an option to include two more years.
According to a staff report, the proposed cost of auditing services for the current fiscal year is listed at $40,765. The price rises by around $1,000 per year, through the fifth audit year.
The City of Citrus Heights previously contracted with Sacramento-based Richardson & Company, LLP for auditing services, since 2014. The council’s staff report says a decision to recommend LSL came after five proposals for auditing services were evaluated based on “responsiveness, technical experience, qualifications of staff, and other considerations.”
