The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Additional bulletins are linked at the end of this article.
Tuesday, April 16, 2019: Total of 71 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 2 calls regarding suspicious activities, 20 disturbance-related, 11 homeless/transient-related, no grand thefts, 4 petty thefts, 1 burglary, 3 assault reports, 5 collisions, 1 stolen vehicle, and no reports of domestic violence.
1:25 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Greenback/Shupe. Police dispatchers received a call after 1 a.m. where a female could be heard screaming “Why did you hit my son,” and a male saying “I’m trying to sleep.” No other information was listed in the log.
6:14 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, Melva St. A vehicle was reportedly stolen from a driveway on side street off Oak Avenue, near C-Bar-C Park.
7:51 a.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Sunrise/Stanford. A collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle was reported on Sunrise Boulevard near Madera Park. Another incident involving a vehicle and a bicycle was reported later the same evening at Lichen and Mountainside drives.
12:19 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Citibank on Sunrise Blvd. A caller told police that their elderly father’s caregiver had tried to get him to empty his bank account.
1:30 p.m., Petty Theft, Mariposa/Old Auburn. Police were contacted by a witness who said they had just seen a suspect in a silver Chevy Colorado steal some mail at a residence on Mariposa Avenue and then leave going towards Old Auburn Road.
2:12 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Round Table Pizza on Lichen Drive. Police were advised that a man had just left Round Table Pizza “with a gun in his hand.” The caller said they “saw him pull it out of his pants and try to pass it to another subject that was standing in the store.”
2:51 p.m., Homeless Camp, San Juan Park. Two apparently homeless men were reportedly spreading out a tent at San Juan Park.
3:39 p.m., Petty Theft, Kohl’s on San Juan Ave. Two women reportedly walked out of Kohl’s with a curling iron that wasn’t paid for.
5:19 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Pretty Girl Ct. A resident on Pretty Girl Court reported that two individuals were in a verbal argument in front of their residence. The court is located off Broken Bow Drive, near Indian River Drive and Greenback Lane.
6:01 p.m., Vandalism, Mariposa Ave. A resident on Mariposa Avenue reported that an unknown individual had thrown an egg at their home.
7:07 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, San Juan High School on Greenback Ln. Several transients were reportedly in the dugout of the varsity baseball field at San Juan High School.
7:10 p.m., Petty Theft, Duval St. A caller told police that her friend had taken over $150 of medication from her sometime during the past several days.
7:11 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Millwood Drive. Several people were reportedly living in a camping trailer while doing remodeling or construction work on a residence in a neighborhood near Stones Casino.
8:40 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, at Edgewater Apartments on Sunrise Vista Dr. About a dozen adults were seen approaching vehicles and trying door handles in an apartment complex on Sunrise Boulevard.
