The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Saturday, March 9, 2019. Links to additional bulletins are also included below.
Saturday, March 9, 2019: Total of 65 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 20 calls regarding suspicious activities, 18 disturbance-related, 8 homeless/transient-related, no grand thefts, 5 petty thefts, 2 burglaries, 3 assault reports, 4 collisions, 1 stolen vehicle, and 2 reports of domestic violence.
2:10 a.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Old Auburn/Fair Oaks. A yellow vehicle reportedly collided with a tree around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Old Auburn Road and Fair Oaks Boulevard.
2:35 a.m., Disturbance Noise, Sayonara Drive. Police were advised that a neighbor was “blasting music” around 2:30 a.m. on Sayonara Drive, causing nearby residents to not be able to sleep.
5:35 a.m., Assault w/Weapon, Auburn/Devecchi. A man was reportedly seen yelling as a vehicle was observed “trying to run him over” around 5:30 a.m., near Auburn Boulevard and Devecchi Avenue. The man was also seen “jumping on the hood” of the vehicle.
6:06 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Post Office on Fountain Square Drive. A homeless man was reportedly found sleeping inside the post office lobby across from the police station.
8:20 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Metro Fire Station 21 on Greenback Ln. Members of Metro Fire’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) reportedly found a person hiding behind Station 21 on Greenback Lane. The individual then jumped the fence.
9:03 a.m., Petty Theft, Food Maxx on Sunrise Blvd. A man who walked out without paying for groceries at Food Maxx reportedly made a threat of violence to a caller who confronted the man.
10:59 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, Sunrise Center Apartments on Sunrise Vista Drive. Police were advised that a silver Honda vehicle had been stolen overnight from an apartment complex on Sunrise Vista Drive.
1:37 p.m., Robbery, Raley’s on Lichen Drive. An employee at Raley’s phoned police and said she was locked inside the pharmacy bathroom and believed the store was being robbed.
2:34 p.m., Reckless Driving, Sunrise/Madison. Two very young children were reportedly seen unrestrained and “hang(ing) out the back windows” of a moving vehicle.
4:52 p.m., Vandalism, Sayonara/Mauana. A caller reported that a man had thrown a screw driver at her car, causing damage.
5:27 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Sierra Glen Apartments on Auburn Oaks Ct. Police were notified that a woman was flailing her arms, using profanity and “yelling at no one specific” from her apartment balcony.
6:04 p.m., Burglary, Longford Drive. A resident on Longford Drive came home to find it had been burglarized, with the front door open and her purse, computer and other items missing.
6:17 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Marshall’s on Greenback Ln. Police were contacted after a shopper at Marshall’s was observed “putting baby clothes inside his pants.”
7:34 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Off Broadway Shoes on Birdcage Centre Ln. Two individuals were reportedly “throwing hot sauce” at vehicles in front of a shoe store in the Marketplace at Birdcage shopping center..
