Latest police logs in Citrus Heights include reports of a Craigslist transaction ending in a robbery, multiple vehicle burglaries at an apartment complex, an injury hit-and-run involving a motorcycle, and a woman at a grocery store telling people she had a gun.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Sunday, March 3, 2019. Links to additional bulletins are also included below.
Sunday March 3, 2019: Total of 51 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 18 calls regarding suspicious activities, 15 disturbance-related, 8 homeless/transient-related, no grand thefts, 1 petty theft, 3 vehicle burglaries, 1 assault report, 3 collisions, no stolen vehicles, and no reports of domestic violence.
2:10 a.m., Collision, Auburn/Watson. A driver called police after driving into a ditch shortly after 2 a.m., near Auburn Boulevard and Watson Way. No injuries were reported.
5:36 a.m., Burglary Vehicle, Oak Creek Village Apartments on Greenback Ln. Police were advised that “at least 4 cars in a row” had been broken into at an apartment complex on the 7700 block of Greenback Lane. Estimated loss involved was unknown. Another report was made about six hours later stating that a vehicle had been broken into at the same apartment complex, and it appeared the suspect(s) had tried to hotwire the vehicle.
8:35 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Sungarden Dr. Police were notified that a transient had been seen “leaning against a street light.”
2:11 p.m., Assault, Wexford Cr. A caller told police they had been assaulted by their sister. Ages of the parties involved were not listed.
2:14 p.m., Burglary Vehicle, Creekbed/Virk. A vehicle was broken into on a residential sidestreet near Rosie’s Country Kitchen and the Ranch Motel. Two tablets were reported missing.
1:30 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Crepes & Burgers on Auburn Blvd. A plastic ammunition can was reportedly dropped in front of a vehicle in the restaurant’s parking lot by an individual who then left in another vehicle.
2:45 p.m., Reckless Driving, Madera Park on Wonder St. Several mini-bike riders were reportedly “driving recklessly and scaring people in the park.”
3:42 p.m., Robbery, Autumn Ridge Apartments on Desimone Ln. A suspect reportedly ran off with a necklace and iPhone during a Craigslist transaction that went awry at an apartment complex on Desimone Lane.
5:10 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Smart & Final on Madison Ave. Police were contacted after a driver was observed throwing trash out of his window.
5:54 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Brookhaven Wy. An “unknown number of subjects” in a creek area near Brookhaven Way were reportedly “trying to lure two girls out of the yard.”
6:03 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Grocery Outlet on Greenback Ln. A woman at Grocery Outlet was reportedly “telling people she has a gun.” No further details were listed in the police log.
6:14 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Kohl’s on San Juan Ave. Police were advised that a man in front of Kohl’s requested an officer and “believes that unknown subjects are shooting at him.”
8:06 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Ranch Motel on Auburn Blvd. A group of transients were reportedly trying to push-start a van in the Ranch Motel parking lot.
8:16 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Walgreens at Antelope/Sunrise. Police were contacted after a female was reportedly observed in the Walgreens parking lot screaming “please stop,” while another woman was “hitting her and put her hand over her mouth and shoved her into a vehicle.”
8:38 p.m., Hit and Run, with Injury. A motorcycle reportedly crashed into a vehicle near Tupelo Drive, prompting the driver to call police. The rider was reportedly leaving on foot when police were contacted.
