The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. Links to additional bulletins are also included below.
Saturday, January 26, 2019: Total of 48 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 14 calls regarding suspicious activities, 18 disturbance-related, 6 homeless/transient-related, no grand thefts, 1 petty theft, no burglaries, 2 assault reports, 2 collisions, no stolen vehicles, and 1 report of domestic violence.
12:14 a.m., Assault, Mauana/Sayonara. Four males were reportedly seen “shoving and yelling” in the middle of the street.
12:29 a.m., Prowler, Terra Wy. A prowler reportedly jumped over a fence and tried to get into a house on Terra Way, near Sayonara Drive. The caller’s boyfriend tackled the suspect and had him pinned down in the driveway when police were called. About 20 minutes prior, another caller reported a prowler incident several blocks away involving someone trying to get into a home on Verhoven Court.
5:30 a.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Willowleaf Dr. A vehicle was reportedly parked in the middle of the road on a residential street near Van Maren Lane and Misty Creek Drive.
7:54 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Safeway on Greenback Ln. Police were advised that a transient male was in front of Safeway with his pants down.
8:18 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Freedom Ln. An unknown male with several bikes and electric scooters was observed in a creek area behind a residence in the Creekside Estates mobile home park off Greenback Lane.
12:05 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Circle K on Sunrise Blvd. A man was reportedly throwing rocks and sticks in front of the Circle K gas station on Sunrise Boulevard. He was also observed hitting a nearby sign and punching a wall.
1:26 p.m., Reckless Driving, Zenith/Antelope. A vehicle travelling westbound on Antelope Road was observed “driving on a rim” with sparks coming from the wheel.
1:29 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Greenback/Fountain Square. Police were contacted about “very loud music” coming from the medical office building being constructed at the corner of Greenback Lane and Fountain Square Drive. The caller said their home backs up to the location and police were requested to “ask them to turn it down.”
6:01 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Creekside Dental on Greenback Ln. A transient man was reportedly loitering in front of a dental building on Greenback Lane, near Auburn Boulevard. Police were advised that the man was responsible for starting “at least three fires” in recent months.
6:35 p.m., Collision Injury, Mariposa/Circuit. An injury collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle was reported near Mariposa Avenue and Circuit Drive.
6:52 p.m., Assault, Fair Oaks/Woodmore Oaks. An assault reportedly occurred following a vehicle accident on Fair Oaks Drive near Woodmore Oaks Drive.
10:02 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Kohls on San Juan Ave. Police were notified that a suspicious individual was inside the store “stuffing a duffel bag with merchandise and removing the security tags,” but had not walked out yet.
10:51 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Target on Sunrise Blvd. Several juveniles were reportedly in the center divide throwing rocks at passing vehicles, causing damage.
11:28 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Round Table Pizza on Lichen Dr. Several transients reportedly approached a man outside Round Table Pizza and asked to get in his vehicle.
