Citrus Heights Police Logs: stolen cash, bike trouble, homeless camps

Latest police logs include reports of a drunk individual at Walmart who was riding a bike through the store, an employee at Target being accused of stealing cash from a register, more collisions at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue, and trouble with a customer at Bank of America.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Friday, Dec. 21, 2018. Links to additional bulletins are also included below.

Friday, December 21, 2018: Total of 75 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 19 calls regarding suspicious activities, 14 disturbance-related, 10 homeless/transient-related, 1 shoplifting incident, 1 grand theft, 7 petty thefts, 2 vehicle burglaries, 2 assault reports, 8 collisions, 1 stolen vehicle, and 3 reports of domestic violence.

8:26 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, Canyon Oak Dr. A motorcycle was reportedly stolen overnight from a location on Canyon Oak Drive, off Old Auburn Road.

9:43 a.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Fair Oaks/Oak. Two cars reportedly “went through barricades” at the intersection of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue.

9:49 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Bank of America on Kingswood Dr. Police were contacted after a customer at Bank of America refused to leave and was “verbally abusing employees.”

12:14 p.m., Homeless Camp, Kinder Care Learning Center. Police were notified of an ongoing problem with homeless camping on the other side of a fence at Kinder Care Learning Center, adjacent to the Interstate 80 off-ramp at Antelope Road. Another incident log was recorded about 25 minutes later after transients at the same location were reportedly “trying to speak to kids through the fence.”

1:20 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sunrise/Greenback. An individual appeared to be burning a pair of sneakers at the bus stop on Sunrise Boulevard, near Sprouts.

1:45 p.m., Petty Theft, Target on Sunrise Blvd. An employee reportedly stole $300-400 in cash from a register, along with video games.

1:48 p.m., Homeless Camp, Sylvan Oaks Library on Auburn Blvd. At least two homeless tents were reportedly set up behind Sylvan Oaks Library, near the creek.

3:37 p.m., Driving Under the Influence, Walmart. A drunk individual inside Walmart was reportedly “riding a bike through the store.”

9:48 p.m., Assault, Auburn Blvd. Police were contacted by a male caller who said he was assaulted by his sister. Ages of the individuals involved were not listed.

10:27 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Bremen Drive. A vehicle playing loud music was reportedly driving through a neighborhood near Greenback and Van Maren lanes after 10 p.m. The music was described as “so loud, it’s shaking the house.”
