Citrus Heights Police Logs: break-in, stolen lights, Victoria’s Secret, shopping cart

Latest police logs include reports of a break-in at an elementary school, transients stealing light fixtures from an apartment complex, a grand theft incident at Victoria’s Secret, and a shopping cart being pushed into oncoming traffic.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018.

Tuesday, December 11, 2018: Total of 62 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 21 calls regarding suspicious activities, 9 disturbance-related, 9 homeless/transient-related, no shoplifting incidents, 1 grand theft, 2 petty thefts, 3 burglaries, 5 assault reports, 4 collisions, no stolen vehicles and no reports of domestic violence.

8:00 a.m., Homeless Camp, Sunrise Animal Hospital on Sunrise Blvd. A homeless camp with at least two people in it was reportedly set up in the old Abel’s Christmas Tree lot, next to Sunrise Animal Hospital.

8:53 a.m., Burglary, Grand Oaks Elementary on Rosswood Drive. The nurse’s room at Grand Oaks Elementary was reportedly broken into sometime during the night. No further details were listed in the police log.

9:39 a.m., Burglary, Greenback Terrace Apartments on Birdcage St. Several transients reportedly “made entry and took light fixtures” at an apartment complex on the 6300 block of Birdcage Street.

10:00 a.m., Burglary, Kingswood Drive. A home on Kingswood Drive was reportedly burglarized and two cars were stolen.

12:03 p.m., Assault, Jiffy Lube on Sunrise Blvd. A man and a woman were reportedly “assaulting each other” in front of the Jiffy Lube on Sunrise Boulevard, near Antelope Road.

1:55 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Red Maple/Woodmore Oaks. Police were notified that a white Honda was “somewhat following” a UPS vehicle through the Woodmore Oaks neighborhood.

4:22 p.m., Collision Non-Injury, Longford Dr. A caller told police they had just seen a driver “push over a sign” and then park and walk inside a nearby apartment.

5:56 p.m., Grand Theft, Victoria’s Secret. A grand theft incident was reported at Sunrise Mall, involving the loss of more than $5,000 in apparel or money. No other details were included in the police log.

7:24 p.m., Reckless Driving at Sunrise/Oak. A caller told police they were being followed by another vehicle and were advised to drive to the police department.

8:17 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sunrise/Sayonara. Two subjects reportedly pushed a red shopping cart into traffic at Sunrise Boulevard and Sayonara Drive, almost causing a collision.
