Latest police logs include reports of an F-350 being stolen outside Stones Casino, someone breaking into a Goodwill donation box and defecating in it, a shoplifter being caught at Target, and suspicious activity involving a man with a hazmat suit.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018.
Wednesday, December 5, 2018: Total of 63 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 25 calls regarding suspicious activities, 9 disturbance-related, 2 homeless/transient-related, 3 shoplifting incidents, no grand thefts, 3 petty thefts, 2 vehicle burglaries, 2 assault reports, 4 collisions, 2 stolen vehicles and no reports of domestic violence.
2:53 a.m., Vandalism, Shell station at Sunrise/Greenback. Several transients were reportedly kicking and breaking things inside the car wash area of the Shell gas station at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane. Police were also advised that marijuana could be smelled in the area,
9:25 a.m., Petty Theft, Elephant Bar at Sunrise Mall. Money was reportedly missing from a safe at Elephant Bar. There were no signs of forced entry.
10:04 a.m., Homeless Camp at Walmart on Auburn Blvd. Several homeless camps were reported in the nature preserve area around Walmart.
11:26 a.m., Vandalism, Goodwill Express at Antelope/Lichen. Someone reportedly broke into a Goodwill Express donation box and then “urinated and defecated on the remaining items in the box.” Several items were also stolen from the donation box.
11:48 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Barnes & Noble on Sunrise Blvd. An individual who had reportedly been drinking was “laying on the ground by the doors, screaming.”
3:12 p.m., Petty Theft, Tokyo Buffet on Greenback Ln. A woman called police and said she had video of someone at work stealing her phone from off a table inside the restaurant.
3:36 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Parrot Planet on Auburn Blvd. A customer reportedly went to Parrot Planet to make a purchase, but called police after she found the door to the business locked, with lights on inside.
4:21 p.m., Assault w/Weapon, Keyesport Wy. A client at an unspecified location on Keyesport Way, near the Big Oak Mobile Home park, reportedly suffered a head injury after “another resident threw a metal coffee cup and split his head open.”
5:55 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Stones Casino on Antelope Rd. A Ford F-350 diesel truck was reported stolen from the parking lot at Stones Casino.
6:48 p.m., Shoplifting, Target on Sunrise Blvd. Police were advised by personnel at Target that a shoplifter had been apprehended. The suspect was described as cooperative, with the value of items attempted to be stolen listed at less than $950.
7:18 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Grand Oaks Blvd. A man wearing a “hazmat suit” was reportedly seen near a propane barbecue tank in a backyard on Grand Oaks Boulevard. Police were advised that the man was “possibly cooking meth, due to glassware near the tank.”
