The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018. Additional logs are linked below.
Sunday, November 18, 2018: Total of 45 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 10 calls regarding suspicious activities, 9 disturbance-related, 3 homeless/transient-related, 3 shoplifting incidents, no grand thefts, 6 petty thefts, 1 burglary, no assault reports, 3 collisions, 1 stolen vehicle and 1 report of domestic violence.
12:12 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Fireside Lanes on Auburn Blvd. Police assistance was requested in asking an individual to leave who was reportedly using drugs inside a bathroom at the Fireside Lanes bowling alley.
11:28 a.m., Homeless Camp, Auburn Bridge at Halifax/Auburn. A homeless camp was reportedly being set up “under and around” a bridge.
11:41 a.m., Vandalism, Sunrise Mall. Police were advised by a vehicle owner that he had just witnessed a man break the window of his car with a rock.
1:59 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Round Table Pizza on Greenback Ln. Police were notified that a counterfeit $100 bill was available for pickup at Round Table Pizza. (The U.S. Dept. of Treasury advises those who come into contact with counterfeit money to surrender the bill to police or the Secret Service, although financial remuneration is not offered.)
4:32 p.m., Shoplifting, Old Navy on Birdcage Centre Ln. A shoplifter was reportedly stopped and property was recovered, but police were contacted after the suspect left. The value of the items was listed as under $950.
5:41 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Big Oak Dr. Police were notified that a truck that had just been stolen on Big Oak Drive, a side street off Old Auburn Road near Twin Oaks Avenue. Two hours later, another call was received from a caller on Big Oak Drive, who said Chase Bank had called and said suspects “were trying to withdrawal $260 from the bank and was declined.”
9:02 p.m., Petty Theft, Magic Ct. Several suspects reportedly came to buy a dog from a residence, but apparently made off without paying. Although the incident log does not include additional details, police provided additional details in a Facebook post several days later. Police said a woman selling a puppy from her home had become a victim after two suspects purchased the dog using counterfeit cash and then stole her wallet and proceeded to fraudulently use her credit cards. The suspects were later arrested.
11:21 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Montage Apartments on Fair Oaks Blvd. Police were contacted by an apartment resident after unknown individuals reportedly began drilling the lock out on the caller’s front door.
11:39 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Twin Oaks/Crestmont. A female was reportedly screaming and was observed being forced by a male into a vehicle.
