A note to our readers: an earlier version of this story listed Nov. 29 as the date of the laser show, however organizers announced on Tuesday that the event has been moved to Nov. 30, due to weather.

Sentinel staff report– “Magical Moments” is returning to the Sunrise MarketPlace in Citrus Heights beginning with a free Holiday Laser Light Show in the Lowe’s parking lot on Nov. 30, followed by a step back in time for a “Victorian Holiday” event in the Marketplace at Birdcage and several more holiday-themed events in December.

The upcoming events are presented by the Sunrise MarketPlace, a business improvement district made up of more than 400 businesses located along Sunrise Boulevard between Arcadia Drive and Madison Avenue, and along Greenback Lane between Birdcage Street and Fair Oaks Boulevard. Each event planned this year will be held at different locations within the business district.

According to a news release, this year’s Magical Moments will feature four “free interactive, family friendly pop-up experiences with a chance to win a $250 shopping spree at every event.”

Nov. 30th at Lowe’s: Laser Light Show, 6-9 p.m. The Lowe’s parking lot will be transformed into a “holiday rockin’ spectacle” with laser light shows, a giant human snow globe, laser tag arena, animated inflatables, and food truck and hot beverage truck will also be on scene. Light shows are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

Dec. 1st at Marketplace at Birdcage: Victorian Holiday, 12-3 p.m. Visitors are invited to “step back in time and enjoy the holidays the old-fashioned way,” with Victorian-era holiday carolers, a caricature booth for capturing your cartoon image, and horse-drawn sleigh rides “before you stop by to visit Santa.” Activities and craft stations will also be setup throughout the shopping center, along with the Magical Moments’ giant human snow globe.

Dec. 15th at Sunrise Village: Winterfest, 12-3 p.m. A festive pop-up carnival will provide “child-size amusement and spirited entertainment,” with a variety of games and activities for children of all ages. The event will also include inflatable bounce houses, face painting provided by a holiday elf, a Christmas magic show at 1:30 p.m., and a create-your-own candy sushi roll at a Benihana booth.

Dec. 20th at Sunrise Mall: Nutcracker, 5-7 p.m. The event series will wrap up in the Macy’s Court at Sunrise Mall with a pair of ballet performances of the Nutcracker provided by the Sac Civic Ballet. A storytime reading of the Nutcracker will also be held between shows. Organizers say the event will also include Nutcracker character appearances, a background photo op, and a “meet & greet” with the ballet dancers. Visitors will also have a chance to win tickets to see a full performance of the Nutcracker Ballet.
