Sentinel staff report–
Looking for a local way to help survivors of Butte County’s Camp Fire? This Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Sunrise MarketPlace and 101.5 K-Hits will be hosting a fundraiser inside Sunrise Mall at the Macy’s Courtyard.

According to event information posted on K-Hits website, radio hosts Susan Wright and Jennifer Steele will be on site for the three-hour fundraiser to collect cash, loose change and gift cards from those wishing to donate. Organizers say donations will be given to Tri Counties Bank’s 2018 Camp Fire Fund, which will distribute to those affected by the fire through various nonprofit organizations, including United Way of Northern California, The Salvation Army and Northern Valley Catholic Social Services.

K-Hits and Sunrise MarketPlace also teamed up in August for a drive-thru “coin drop” fundraiser to benefit survivors of the Carr Fire, reportedly raising over $2,400 in about three hours. The Carr Fire destroyed more than 1,000 homes and killed eight people earlier this year, while the Camp Fire continues to burn and has become the most destructive and deadly fire in California history, taking the lives of more than 80 people and destroying more than 18,000 structures.
