Tuesday, October 23, 2018: Total of 70 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 17 calls regarding suspicious activities, 19 disturbance-related, 6 homeless/transient-related, 5 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 4 burglaries, 6 assault reports, and 2 reports of domestic violence.
1:23 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Stonehand Ave. A caller reportedly saw a man being dragged into a house on a sidestreet near Antelope Road.
8:46 a.m., Petty Theft, Greenback Gardens Apartments on Burich Ave. Police were advised that six fire extinguishers had been broken into at an apartment complex, with the culprit(s) stealing the extinguishers and using them.
10:17 a.m., Assault w/Weapon, Sunrise/Woodmore Oaks. A man told police his wife was chasing him in a car and was “trying to ram him.” He was currently driving in circles in the parking lot of 7-Eleven on Woodmore Oaks Drive.
2:33 p.m., Burglary, Batteries Plus Bulbs on Greenback Ln. Someone reportedly cut the lock off a gate and stole fuel from a vehicle by cutting a fuel line on the truck.
3:32 p.m., Assault, Emily’s Guest Home on Kanai Ave. A “violent resident” was allegedly assaulting staff at an elderly care home on Kanai Avenue, off Auburn Boulevard. No weapons or injuries were reported.
4:06 p.m., Petty Theft, Terrell Dr. A woman with a shopping cart was reportedly observed taking mail out of two different mailboxes on a sidestreet near Burlington Coat Factory. Police were advised that the woman had fled into a nearby creek area after neighbors started chasing her.
4:43 p.m., Burglary, Rollingwood Blvd. An unknown suspect reportedly broke into a residence through a side door and made off with a laptop and gaming console.
4:44 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Black Oaks Way. A parent told police that his 15-year-old had been befriended at church by a registered sex offender listed on the state Megan’s Law database. Police were told that the man in question had since been asked to not return to the church.
5:40 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Sunrise Center Apartments on Sunrise Vista Drive. A caller told police they had become a victim of fraud after receiving a call from an individual claiming to be with “Social Security.” The caller had provided the fraudster with their social security number and also provided a gift card for $360.
