A 30-year-old Citrus Heights man was among two suspects arrested last week for their alleged involvement in a shooting at a Howe Avenue apartment complex that took the life of a 27-year-old man last month.
The first suspect, Sacramento resident Maurice Lamar Vale, was arrested on Sept. 20 and is currently being held in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail. According to online inmate records, the 44-year-old has been charged with murder and felony robbery. He is ineligible for bail.
Richard Wallace-Dargan, Jr., of Citrus Heights, who was arrested a day later, is also in custody and ineligible for bail. Inmate records show he faces the same charges of felony robbery and murder, although a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release said Wallace-Dargan’s charges pertain to “accessory to murder and home invasion robbery,” indicating Vale is the one accused of pulling the trigger.
The Sheriff’s Department announced the arrests in a Sept. 23 news release, stating the shooting had occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 4 at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Howe Avenue in North Sacramento. Deputies had arrived and found Trevor Solari, of Sacramento, dead at the scene.
At the time of the incident, Sgt. Shaun Hampton said Solari had been shot at least once in the upper body, with no known motive.
The Sheriff’s Department news release said homicide detectives continue to investigate the murder and ask anyone with information relating to the shooting to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP.
