Citrus Heights Police Logs: cracked windshield, parking spaces, homeless

Latest police logs include a driver having their windshield cracked by a truck spewing rocks on Sunrise Boulevard, a man reportedly being assaulted by his step-daughter, and a bloody fight over a parking space at Safeway.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Monday, August 20, 2018. Additional logs for Aug. 12 to Aug. 19 are linked below.

Monday, August 20, 2018: Total of 67 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 17 calls regarding suspicious activities, 18 disturbance-related, 9 homeless/transient-related, 2 petty thefts, no grand thefts, no burglaries, 3 assaults, and one report of domestic violence.

12:25 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Easthaven Wy. Police received a call regarding a group of three males roaming the area, one carrying a 2×4 piece of wood and the others on bicycles. The trio were last seen headed towards Marinvale Drive, near Van Maren Lane. No disposition listed.

7:21 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Stock Ranch/ Sol Wy. A man wearing a grey jacket was reportedly observed attempting to open the gates of senior apartments on Stock Ranch Road. He was also described to be “talking to himself.” No disposition listed.

7:37 a.m., Assault, 7-Eleven at Sperry/San Juan. A caller reported having been physically assaulted by a man who also took his dog. The police log indicates the caller was refusing to answer questions from dispatch and yelled “I should have stabbed him,” while on the phone. No disposition listed.

2:11 p.m., Reckless Driving, Old Auburn/Sunrise. A caller told police that a semi truck was travelling on Sunrise Boulevard and had rocks being tossed from it, causing the caller’s windshield to be cracked. No disposition listed.

2:32 p.m., Petty Theft, Birdcage Village Apartments. A license plate was reported stolen off a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta that was parked at the Birdcage Village Apartments. No disposition listed.

2:38 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Arcade Lake Ln. A caller reported that a transient living by Arcade Creek had been trying their door handle and knocking on door. The transient had been coming for the last two days, as soon as the caller’s husband left for work. No disposition listed.

3:35 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Sunrise Center Apartments, Sunrise Vista Dr. An unspecified number of car-dwellers were reported to be living in a parked vehicle at the apartment complex for the past week. The vehicle had a registration tag taped to the back window. No disposition listed.

6:35 p.m., Assault, Safeway at San Juan/Greenback. Police were informed that a patient at Kaiser hospital had been involved in a fight over a parking spot in front of the Safeway store on Greenback Lane earlier in the day. The patient was described as having “a laceration to the ear and lip.”

8:30 p.m., Assault, Almondwood Ave. A man reported being struck in the back by his teenage step-daughter. No weapons were involved. No disposition listed.
