Citrus Heights Police Logs: shoplifter arrest, grand theft, water waste

Latest police logs include reports of a woman’s wedding ring and jewelry being stolen while her husband was visiting her gravestone, an ex-boyfriend allegedly slashing his former lover’s vehicle tires and pouring a white substance in the gas tank, and a neighbor calling police to report a hose being left on next door.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for July 16, 2018. Additional links to police bulletins for July 10-15 are posted below.

Monday, July 16th, 2018: Total of 63 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 17 calls regarding suspicious activities, 9 disturbance-related, 3 calls regarding homeless camps, 1 grand theft, 6 petty thefts, 1 assault report, and 1 domestic violence report.

12:50 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sunburst Wy. A caller told police they had just seen someone trying to break into their neighbor’s vehicle trunk on Sunburst Way, near Twin Creeks Park. The suspect then was seen possibly going into the backyard of the neighbor’s residence. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

6:54 a.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Streng Ave. Police were advised that someone was sleeping in the back seat of a vehicle that had been parked in front of a residence for over an hour. Disposition listed: arrest.

10:56 a.m., Homeless Camp, Sunrise Vista Mobile Home Park on Sunrise Blvd. Several transients with alcohol were reported to be playing loud music behind the mobile home park. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.

2:45 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Hillspire Ct. A vehicle that was left for a few days on a court near Twin Creeks Park was discovered to have its ignition ripped out. No further details were listed. Disposition listed: checks ok.

3:05 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Check Into Cash on Auburn Blvd. A fraudulent returned check was reported to police. The amount was not specified. Disposition listed: Advised.

3:14 p.m., Grand Theft, Starling Ct. A caller informed police that his wife’s wedding ring and jewelry were stolen while he was visiting her gravestone. The caller noted his 35-year-old transient grandson was at the residence when he was away. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

4:16 p.m., Vandalism outside HR Block on Greenback Ln. Police were advised that a vehicle had just had its tires slashed and a white substance had been poured into its gas tank in the past 45 minutes. The caller’s ex-boyfriend was listed as a suspect. Disposition listed: advised.

6:34 p.m., Petty Theft, Cedar Creek Wy. Police received a call from someone on behalf of an 88-year-old woman whose son had reportedly been stealing from her. Disposition listed: civil problem.

7:18 p.m., Assault, Greenback/San Juan. A caller reported seeing someone get out of a vehicle on Greenback Lane, walk up to another vehicle, and begin punching one of the occupants in the face. The victims vehicle then swerved out of the lane and got into an accident. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

8:45 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Sun Hill Dr. A caller told police their neighbor’s daughters were “sitting on lawn chairs in the garage with the hose running.” The caller further specified that the girls were “not playing with the water or watering any plants, just running.” Disposition listed: civil problem.

8:53 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Montage Apartments on Fair Oaks Blvd. A man called police after his son, who was on steroids and cocaine, was reportedly “breaking down the door.”

11:22 p.m. Shoplifting, Target on Sunrise Blvd. A male suspect with an outstanding warrant was taken into custody for shoplifting at the Target store on Sunrise Boulevard. Disposition listed: arrest.
