Toys R Us in Citrus Heights will close its doors for good on June 29, 2018.

Sentinel staff report–
Discounts have risen to 70 to 90% off retail prices as the local Toys R Us store in Citrus Heights prepares to close its doors for good this Friday. So what items remain on the shelves?

As of Wednesday afternoon, about three-fourths of the store at 7800 Greenback Ln. was closed off with caution tape and remaining merchandise had been brought to the front portion of the store near the cash registers. Items observed remaining included plenty of small toys and kids items in the $2 to $10 range, along with a variety of birthday and greeting cards at 90% off, photo frames, small pink backpacks, stuffed animals, and coloring books.

A pair of Ninja Turtles kids beds were also observed priced at $44.99, after a 70% discount was applied. More than a hundred Sharper Image remote control vehicles were also seen on shelves and in bins, with a price of $9, down from the retail price of $30.

Shelving and other display items formerly used inside the store are also being sold at 60% off.

Store hours remain 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., through June 29, although a cashier said on Wednesday that the store would close early if all merchandise is sold before 9 p.m. on Friday. In its final days, the store is only accepting credit cards for payment.
