Citrus Heights Police Logs: Beer bottle, transient trouble, assault

Latest police logs include reports of a woman spending the night outside McDonald’s, stolen surveillance cameras, and an arrest made after a group of transients reportedly cornered a woman near Sylvan Road.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for June 10, 2018. Additional logs for June 5-9 are also linked below.

Sunday, June 10th, 2018: Total of 50 incidents listed
Incident report categories of note: 14 calls regarding suspicious activities, 14 disturbance-related, 7 homeless-related, 1 petty theft, no grand thefts, 4 burglaries, 2 assaults, and 2 domestic violence reports.

12:49 a.m., Suspicious Circumstance, Sunrise Mall. Police were informed that a man was observed riding on a bicycle near Sunrise Mall with another bicycle in his hand, shortly before 1 a.m. The caller was concerned that the man may have stolen the second bike. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

1:01 a.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Westgate Drive. A beer bottle was reportedly thrown out of a pickup truck at a car parked in a driveway on Westgate Drive, causing damage to the car’s door. The truck involved was a dark-colored pickup truck with an unknown license plate number. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

6:35 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Smith Optometry, Auburn Blvd. Police were informed about a transient man who decided to sleep at the front door of an optometry business on the 8000 block of Auburn Boulevard. The caller requested that police send him on his way. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.

7:55 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, McDonald’s at Madison/San Juan. A homeless woman reportedly spent the night outside McDonald’s and had “all her belongings spread out in the outdoor table area” and was refusing to leave. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.

9:00 a.m., Vandalism, Rollingwood Blvd. A call was received informing police of stolen surveillance cameras off the front of a house, with a loss totaling $400. The caller said she had received a text from her ex who took credit for the act. Disposition listed: assisted.

1:32 p.m., Burglary, Brook Dale Drive. Personal items were reportedly stolen from a location near Rusch Park on Brook Dale Drive. Police were advised that video and suspect information was available. Disposition listed: report taken.

3:09 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Monte Corita Circle. Police were contacted after a woman was refusing to leave the doorstep of a residence on Monte Corita Circle, located several blocks from Mercy San Juan Medical Center. The woman at the door reportedly knew the caretaker of the caller’s spouse and was attempting to make contact with the caretaker. Disposition listed: advised.

3:21 p.m., Domestic Violence, Greenback Ln. A woman told police she had received a phone call from her pregnant sister who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. It was unknown if the boyfriend had already left the area. Disposition listed: report taken.

7:54 p.m., Assault with Weapon, Oaks at Stock Ranch on Sylvan Rd. A group of transients reportedly surrounded a caller’s female friend in a greenbelt area behind an apartment complex on Sylvan Road. One of them, described as a white male in dark clothing, was armed with a crowbar and would not let her leave the area. Disposition listed: Arrest

10:19 p.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Auburn/Walnut. A white sedan with its driver-side door open was reportedly observed in the middle of the road at Auburn Boulevard and Walnut Drive, after an apparent collision. Police were advised that it was unknown what the vehicle hit or if there were any injuries. The log also stated “fire has been started,” either indicating the vehicle had caught on fire or that Metro Fire had already been dispatched. Disposition listed: assisted.
