The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletin for March 1-4, 2018.
Sunday, March 4, 2018: Total of 77 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 23 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 19 suspicious activity calls, 4 burglaries, 6 petty thefts, 2 grand thefts, 2 assault reports, and 5 collisions.
1:06 a.m., Hit-and-Run, Marketplace at Birdcage. A security guard reported that a vehicle had collided with a light pole while spinning circles in the parking lot. The driver then parked the vehicle in the parking lot and left on foot into nearby apartments. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
8:00 a.m., Homeless Camp, Sunrise Vista Mobile Home Park on Sunrise Blvd. A homeless camp, described as “well-disguised” and “extensive,” was reported behind a mobile home park on Sunrise Boulevard. Disposition listed: advised.
11:13 a.m., Burglary, Navion Drive. A boarded-up home had reportedly been broken into on multiple occasions. Inside, police were advised that drug paraphernalia was found, as well as human feces on the floor. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
11:34 a.m., Grand Theft, Costco on Auburn Blvd. Loss prevention personnel at Costco reported that an expensive surveillance system had been stolen three days ago. Surveillance footage of the incident was available. Disposition listed: report taken.
3:33 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Oakbrook Dr. An elderly woman was reportedly yelling at a neighbor and his children after the neighbor went to retrieve his children’s ball from the woman’s backyard. Disposition listed: advised.
3:47 p.m., Petty Theft, Walmart Market on Sunrise Blvd. A rear license plate was reportedly stolen from a vehicle in the Walmart Neighborhood Market parking lot around 2:30 p.m. Disposition listed: report taken.
6:31 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Oak Forest St. Police were contacted after a man was found asleep in a bedroom at a vacant residence. The man reportedly had a baseball bat next to him. Disposition listed: arrest.
Saturday, March 3, 2018: Total of 75 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 17 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 20 suspicious activity calls, 2 burglaries, 4 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 4 assault reports, and 11 collisions.
3:20 a.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Sunrise/Oak. A passerby reported that a vehicle had crashed into a pole at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Oak Avenue. Disposition listed: report taken.
3:50 p.m., Assault w/Weapon, Dollar Tree on Greenback. A pair of transients were reportedly throwing “softball size” rocks at eachother. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.
4:56 p.m., Assault, Clear View Drive. A mother said her son had pushed her twice. According to the log, both had been drinking alochol. Medical attention was declined. Disposition listed: Advised.
6:34 p.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Petco on Greenback Ln. Police were advised via Onstar of a collision involving a 2016 Chevy Malibu running into a post in the parking lot of Petco at 6067 Greenback Ln. Disposition listed: advised.
11:50 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Auburn/Linden. A man in a dark-colored jacket and hoodie was reportedly observed carrying a shotgun and “spinning it around as he walked.” The caller said the gun did not appear to be a toy. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
