The Sunrise Mall has teamed up with an autism advocacy organization to provide an opportunity for children with special needs to share a “magical moment” with the Easter bunny this Sunday, March 11.
According to a news release about the Bunny Cares event, photo sessions are exclusively for families of children with special needs, with kids of all ages and every spectrum welcomed. The statement said the sensory-friendly event will allow participants “to experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with the Easter Bunny, in a comforting environment prior to public hours.”
Visits with the Bunny are free, but Easter photo packages will be available for purchase during the event. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to reserve a time in advance online at www.AutismSpeaks.org/Bunny2018.
As of Thursday morning, Sunrise Mall Marketing Manager Susie Rodgers said there were still 19 time slots available for reservations. She said those who may have missed out on a reservation will also be accommodated.
The sensory-friendly Easter Bunny sessions will be held on March 11 in the JCPenney Court at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, from 9-11 a.m. Complimentary refreshments, as well as a coloring activity and takeaways will also be provided.
Bunny photo sessions for the general public will also be available inside the Sunrise Mall from March 9-31 between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon until 7 p.m. on Sundays.
