Citrus Heights resident group to host workshop, potluck at Community Center

Sentinel staff report–
Promising an informative and enjoyable night, the Residents’ Empowerment Association of Citrus Heights (REACH) is again inviting residents from around the city to “bring a dish” and attend a community-focused workshop and potluck at the Community Center on March 5.

The evening is scheduled to kick off with a meet-and-greet at 6 p.m., followed by a potluck dinner, presentations and a raffle. REACH President Margaret Cleek said the event will be “a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow members of your community, share good food and listen to our two distinguished speakers.”

She said speaker Michael Marcus of the Sacramento-based Consultants for Community Resources will share on “the positives we can strengthen in our community,” and artist Thomas Spencer will highlight “how we connect to improve the quality of our community.”

REACH, which is in its fifth year of hosting the annual potluck, is a nonprofit umbrella organization that helps the city’s neighborhood associations collaborate together throughout the year. Unlike fee-based homeowner’s associations, the neighborhood groups have no required dues — and anyone residing, working, or owning property within the neighborhood’s boundaries is able to be involved in their association.
