Police: at-risk Citrus Heights man missing again; silver alert issued

Anthony Aka, Missing Person
A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday night to help locate Anthony Aka, a missing at-risk Citrus Heights resident.

Update, 2:50 p.m. — This missing person alert has been cancelled. Police said the missing man has been located.
Police initiated a Silver Alert notification Wednesday night, after a 58-year-old Citrus Heights resident was reported missing.

According to a Citrus Heights Police Department news release, resident Anthony Aka was reported missing by a family member on Jan. 24 and was last seen around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Cowboy Way, near Arlington Heights Elementary. Aka is described as a black male adult, 5-feet-8-inches tall, and 190 pounds. He is possibly wearing an orange, black and brown-colored sweater, and black sweatpants with a white stripe down the side, police said.

After an investigation, authorities determined an alert should be initiated using the Silver Alert system — a public notification system used to broadcast information about missing persons, especially seniors with mental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s Disease.

Aka was also reported missing last year, but was located safely in Rancho Cordova several hours after a missing person alert was issued.

Anyone with information about Aka’s location is asked to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
