Citrus Heights Police Logs: church music, homeless issues, juvenile trouble

Latest police logs include a neighbor complaining about loud church music, grand theft at Victoria’s Secret, several juveniles reportedly throwing water bottles at passing vehicles, and an arrest made after transients were reported living in a shed on Sunrise Boulevard.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletin for Dec. 28, 2017, through Jan. 15, 2018.

Jan. 15, 2018: Total of 73 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 19 disturbance-related, 11 homeless-related, 22 suspicious activity calls, 4 burglaries, 6 petty thefts, no grand thefts, no assault reports, and 4 collisions.

9:13 a.m., Vandalism, Dana Butte Wy. A man told police his garage door had been vandalized at his home, located near Oak Avenue. He believed the vandalism was committed by three juveniles he had chased from the neighborhood the prior week after he allegedly saw them “checking car door handles.” Disposition listed: advised.

10:05 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Lialana Wy. Police were notified that an unknown female was sitting in the caller’s vehicle on Lialana Way, off Sayonara Drive. She was refusing to leave. Disposition listed: arrest.

10:52 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Mariposa/Peter Ray Ct. Two juvenile boys were reportedly throwing water bottles at passing vehicles on Mariposa Avenue. Disposition listed: advised.

12:21 p.m., Burglary, Playtime Piano Studio. Approximately $1,000 to $1,500 worth of tools was stolen from a piano studio on Madison Avenue. Disposition listed: report taken.

12:39 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Citrus Mart. A woman was reportedly defecating next to a dumpster near the corner of Old Auburn Road and Sunrise Boulevard. The issue was described as ongoing, with the woman previously seen loitering and panhandling in front of the location. Disposition listed: unable to locate.

11:34 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Citrus Heights Smog and Car Wash on Auburn Blvd. Four homeless individuals were reportedly loitering outside, kicking over trashcans and making a mess. Disposition listed: arrest.

Jan. 14, 2018: Total of 45 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 16 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 15 suspicious activity calls, no burglaries, 2 petty thefts, 1 grand theft, 1 assault report, and no collisions.

4:27 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, 76 Gas Station on Lichen Dr. A man allegedly threatened to kill a gas station clerk after the clerk declined to let him use his phone. The man, described as very drunk, then dumped a soda stand onto the ground and walked away, leaving behind his passport. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.

5:48 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Freedom Ln. A 65-year-old man was reportedly pounding on the front door of a residence on Freedom Lane shortly before 6 a.m. The caller told police he had met the man once before, and said he was refusing to leave. Disposition listed: Arrest.

9:21 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, River City Chiropractic on Sunrise Blvd. Several transients were reportedly living in a shed outside River City Chiropractic. Disposition listed: arrest.

10:00 a.m., Reckless Driving, Costco on Auburn Blvd. A pickup truck reportedly got stuck while off-roading on a field outside of Costco and another truck was observed trying to pull the vehicle out. An hour later, another call was received regarding a dirt bike off-roading in a field behind Costco. Disposition listed: unable to locate/gone on arrival.

11:22 a.m., Disturbance Noise, Bayside Church on Sylvan Rd. A neighbor told police she was “tired of loud noise” coming from Bayside Church on Sundays, which she said also bothers her neighbors. Disposition listed: advised.

1:03 p.m., Grand Theft, Victoria’s Secret at Sunrise Mall. Police were advised of a theft that occurred at Sunrise Mall inside Victoria’s Secret. The incident was listed as grand theft, meaning the value of the items stolen was over $1,000. No other details were included in the incident summary. Disposition listed: report taken.

4:51 p.m., Assault, Rollerland on Sunrise Vista Dr. A group of women at Rollerland allegedly threatened to “pop a cap” and beat up a man and his wife. Disposition listed: report taken.

8:50 p.m., Domestic Violence, Taco Bell at Lichen/Antelope. A woman, described by a caller as “suicidal,” reportedly punched her husband in the mouth at Taco Bell. An ambulance was requested. Disposition listed: report taken.
