Latest police logs for December include a burglary at the new Plush night club on Arcadia Drive, a homeless man trying to take customers’ orders at Starbucks, and a woman telling police her neighbor was threatening to kill her and bury her in the backyard.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Dec. 13-19, 2017.
December 19, 2017: Total of 59 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 13 disturbance-related, 6 homeless-related, no burglaries, 5 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 4 assault reports, and 2 collisions.
5:02 a.m., Suspicious circumstances, PetSmart on Sunrise Blvd. A masked man was seen in the parking lot with a large metal rod. He was wearing a dark hoodie and was looking into cars. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”
8:44 a.m., Suspicious circumstances, Target on Sunrise Blvd. A woman in her 30s was seen taking a child out of a van near the store and then slamming him on the ground and sitting on him. She then left the area. Disposition listed: checks ok.
12:13 p.m., Burglary, Plush Night Club on Arcadia Drive. The night club was reportedly robbed by a suspect(s) who entered through the front door. Two ATM machines were broken into and all the cash inside was taken. Multiple computers and televisions were stolen as well. There was no security camera footage and the alarm was not monitored. Disposition listed: “cancelled.”
December 18, 2017: Total of 70 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 20 disturbance-related, 9 homeless-related, 3 burglaries, 6 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 2 assault reports, and 4 collisions.
8:07 p.m., Loitering disturbance, Starbucks at Sylvan Corners. A transient inside of the coffee shop kept “trying to take customers’ orders.” He was in his 40s, with a large beard and brown jacket. Disposition listed: advised.
9:01 a.m., Burglary, Blue Ribbon Maintenance on Auburn Blvd. A grocery cart was found inside the bathroom at a janitorial maintenance storage facility. The incident was classified as a burglary, and police were notified that suspects were possibly still hiding inside of the facility. Disposition listed: checks ok.
2:32 p.m., Criminal threats report, Lauppe Lane. A woman advised police of an ongoing issue with her neighbor, who allegedly kept making threats to kill her and “bury her in the backyard.” Disposition listed: cancelled.
December 17, 2017: Total of 55 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 13 disturbance-related, six homeless-related, one burglary, three petty thefts, two grand thefts, no assault reports, and three collisions.
5:33 a.m., Burglary, Sperry Drive. Police were notified that someone was seen using a tool to open a garage window. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”
1:32 p.m., Suspicious vehicle, Dollar Tree on Macy Plaza Drive. A man was seen sitting in a Cadillac sedan that was filled with lots of items. He was listening to music and would rev his engine when people walked by and reportedly “stare at females walking by.” Police were also told that he “looks crazy.” Disposition listed: gone on arrival.
4:33 p.m., Loitering disturbance, Jesus Name Lighthouse Church on Van Maren Ln. A homeless man in his 20s or 30s, reportedly high on narcotics, walked into the church and began stealing items. At the time of the police report, he was in front of the church in the parking lot with a backpack and skateboard. Disposition listed: gone on arrival.
7:59 p.m., Brandishing weapon, Meadows Apartments on San Pablo Drive. A man with a baseball bat reportedly threatened to hurt someone who owed him money unless he repaid the debt. He returned a second time and allegedly threatened to shoot his debtor and shattered his car window. Disposition listed: advised.
9:41 p.m., Robbery, Fountain Square Market on Greenback Ln. A masked suspect reportedly robbed the Fountain Square Market in the Kohl’s shopping area with a small handgun. The suspect then fled on foot towards nearby apartments. Disposition listed: assisted.
