Sentinel staff report–
Citrus Heights police said they received an unusual 911 call on Wednesday from a man who said he was stuck inside of a chimney at a business on Greenback Lane.

In a news release on Friday titled “Criminal Santa does not have the same skills as the real deal,” police said 32-year-old Jesse Berube was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary after Metro Fire personnel used special equipment to extricate him from the chimney.

Police said the incident occurred on Dec. 13 on the 6900 block of Greenback Lane, near Fountain Square Drive. Berube allegedly slid down the chimney to gain access into the business, but was unsuccessful and became lodged inside the chimney. Police said he was fortunately “able to move just enough to call for help.”

Berube, a Rocklin resident, was reportedly uninjured but was arrested and charged with burglary.
