2017 Citrus Heights Police Logs: gun theft, Walgreens robbery, indecent exposure

Latest Citrus Heights police logs include a homeless man reportedly exposing himself to traffic on Greenback Lane, two teens assaulting a security guard, a man robbing the Walgreens pharmacy on Dewey Drive, and an ex-girlfriend reportedly assaulting her former lover with a club.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for November 17-18, 2017. Arrest logs for Nov. 9-16 can be viewed by clicking here.

November 18, 2017: Total of 60 incidents listed. Incident report categories of note: 14 disturbance-related, 6 homeless-related, 2 burglaries, 1 petty theft, no grand thefts, 2 assault reports, and 2 collisions.

8:14 a.m., Assault with a weapon, Shadow Ln. A man said his ex-girlfriend had just hit him with a club and broke his glasses. The club was described as the kind used to lock a vehicle steering wheel. Disposition listed: report taken.

11:08 a.m., Verbal disturbance, Orchard Apartments on Madison Ave. A woman was seen loitering in front of a resident’s apartment for about five hours. She was described as being in her early twenties, with brown hair and no shoes on. She reportedly had set her shoes at the apartment’s front door. The resident requested police show her on her way. Disposition listed: checks ok.

2:03 p.m., Fraud/forgery, Brookdale on Stock Ranch Rd. Several employees at Brookdale Senior Living on Stock Ranch Road were reportedly “financially abusing” a client. The employee was not on scene at the time of the report. Disposition listed: canceled.

6:00 p.m., Suspicious circumstances, Sunrise/Old Auburn. A bystander noticed a large pickup truck parked in front of the dental office at the crossing of Sunrise and Old Auburn. A man who appeared to be associated with the truck was working on the front side of the building with a welding torch. The bystander found the time of day unusual and was suspicious of a burglary or malicious mischief. Disposition listed: checks ok.

10:20 p.m., Assault, Ramblewood Way. A security guard on Ramblewood Way near Zenith Drive was allegedly attacked by two 18-year-olds, who “punched him in his face and ran off.” One of the teens was reportedly pepper sprayed, apparently by the guard. Disposition listed: advised.

November 17, 2017: Total of 82 incidents listed. Incident report categories of note: 20 disturbance-related, 13 homeless-related, 2 burglaries, 3 petty thefts, 1 grand theft, 4 assault reports, and 2 collisions.

9:18 a.m., Criminal threats report, Meadows Apartments on San Pablo Drive. A woman reported that her cousin had threatened to kill her dog. The cousin, who had been staying at her apartment, also told the woman’s friend that there were “three guys in the house with guns,” although it was unknown if he actually had any weapons. Disposition listed: advised.

12:40 p.m., Robbery, Walgreen’s- Greenback Lane on Dewey Drive. Police were advised that a man had just robbed the pharmacy at the Walgreens store at Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive. A hoodie was covering his face during the robbery, so little description was provided. Disposition listed: assisted.

2:38 p.m., Grand theft, Basalt Court. Police were advised by a caller that their grandparents’ gun safe had been broken into on Basalt Court, near C-bar-C Park. All of the guns had been stolen. Possible suspect information was available. Disposition listed: report taken.

2:42 p.m., Loitering disturbance, Citrus Town Center on Greenback Lane. A transient man was escorted out of the Citrus Town Center when he was seen carrying an uncovered hatchet on his hip. He reportedly stated that he had stolen items on him. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”

2:49 p.m., Assault, Greenback Lane. A man in a silver pickup truck was reportedly being assaulted by a woman who was “yanking” on him through the open driver’s side window. The man began yelling during the incident. Disposition listed: “Domestic violence, verbal only.”

4:07 p.m., City Code Violation, Rusch House on Antelope Rd. An ongoing issue was reported involving a “mobile food kitchen being set up at the park to feed and clothe the transient population.” It was reportedly occurring every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:30 p.m., with additional people arriving to provide clothing and set up tables. Disposition listed: “gone on arrival.”

5:14 p.m., Indecent Exposure at Safeway on Greenback Ln. A homeless man was reportedly “kneeling on the ground exposing himself to traffic” in front of a bus stop. Disposition listed: Advised.
