Latest police logs include reports of an elderly woman driving recklessly on Sunrise Boulevard, an upset customer challenging a Walgreens employee to a fight over a store policy, and a married couple receiving a death threat if they didn’t provide $10,000 to an unknown caller.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for October 26.
October 26, 2017: Total of 93 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 22 disturbance-related, 10 homeless-related, 4 burglaries, 3 petty thefts, 6 assault reports, and 13 collisions.
8:59 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, First Choice Realty on Auburn Blvd. A person was found sleeping in front of the First Choice Realty building on the 7600 block of Auburn Blvd. The caller did not feel comfortable trying to wake the person up, so police were called. Disposition listed: arrest.
11:39 a.m., Assault, Mesa Verde High School on Carriage Drive. Two parents had reportedly gotten into a “physical altercation” in the parking lot outside Mesa Verde High School. The reason for the altercation was not listed, but the two parties had been separated by the time police were called. Disposition listed: report taken.
1:32 p.m., Reckless Driving, Sunrise/Alta Sunrise. An elderly woman driving along northbound Sunrise Boulevard had reportedly “almost hit” five vehicles and was unable to maintain lanes, “driving on and over lane by three to five feet.” Disposition listed: advised.
2:29 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Walgreens at Greenback/Dewey. A customer reportedly got mad at a Walgreens employee after being asked to leave his backpack in front of the store while shopping. The customer then started yelling and asked the employee to “come outside to fight.” Disposition listed: arrest.
3:12 p.m., Injury Collision, AMPM at Auburn/Greenback. A three car collision was reported near the corner of Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane, allegedly involving a Ford van that collided with a PT Cruiser and a 2014 Lexus vehicle. The parties involved were in the parking lot of the AMPM gas station at the corner. Metro Fire was also dispatched as a precaution due to one party hitting their head and chest. Disposition listed: advised.
4:24 p.m., Criminal Threats Report, Olivine Ave. A husband and wife reported receiving a call from an unknown person who threatened to harm them if they didn’t “make arrangements to give him money.” The unknown person reportedly had information about their vehicle, address, account information, and even some details about the layout of the inside of their home. He told them he would call back in 10 minutes in order to make arrangements to get $10,000 from them “or else he would be on the way to the home to kill them.” Disposition listed: assisted.
5:02 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Walmart on Auburn Blvd. Police were advised by a woman that she had lost her phone at Walmart and someone subsequently changed all her account information and had used a fake check to take money out of her bank account. Disposition: “on line report.”
5:09 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Crosswoods Community Park on Auburn Blvd. Several juveniles told a caller that homeless people in the area were harassing them. The caller was then approached by a homeless person who said the juveniles had “started one of the bunnies on fire.” Disposition listed: checks ok.
7:03 p.m., Homeless Camp, Sidney Drive. Police were advised by a resident that several homeless tents or tree houses were set up that overlooked their backyard. The owner was reportedly aware of the homeless camp but refused to do anything. Disposition listed: checks ok.
9:08 p.m., Petty Theft, Farmer Country Market on Greenback Ln., Citrus Heights. A thief allegedly made off with some candy and other items from the Farmer Country Market on the 7600 block Greenback Lane. The suspect was described as a female wearing a pink shirt, who fled on foot towards San Juan High School. Disposition listed: Advised.
