The Citrus Heights Police Department on Tuesday afternoon released several photos on social media of a 43-year-old suspect wanted on drug and firearms-related charges, but removed the images shortly after posting them.
Asked about the reason for the post being deleted from CHPD’s Facebook page, Citrus Heights Police Lt. Jason Russo told The Sentinel the suspect was in custody and the images were removed.
In the original posting, police said the suspect, Sonny Loren Grech, had a warrant issued for his arrest in connection with a local drug investigation. According to Sacramento County Superior Court records, his charges include unlawful possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, and a charge related to being an individual prohibited from owning or possessing ammunition or a firearm.
Police had asked for anyone with information about Grech to contact police. Photos showed Grech with a shaved head and a large tattoo on his forehead above his right eyebrow, along with the majority of his neck and upper body covered in tattoos.
