Pumpkin-carving, carnival rides, and craft fair booths will be coming to the Sunrise Mall later this month. A fall carnival will be set up outside the mall from Oct. 19-22, with an extra dose of events on schedule for Oct. 21.

While the carnival is a usual attraction each year, the Sunrise MarketPlace and Sunrise Mall have teamed up this year to host a “Sunrise Crafts, Carvings & Carnival” on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event promises to feature live musical entertainment, over 50 specialty and handmade crafts vendors, and a pumpkin carving demo inside the mall.

The concurrent four-day carnival, operated by Brass Ring Amusements, will feature a variety of rides, including a Ferris wheel. Tickets are priced at a little over $1 apiece, with unlimited ride wristbands offered for $30. Early online purchases of the wristband are available with an $10 discount.

Brass Ring’s carnival will open at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. It will close daily at 10 p.m.

According to a news release about the event, drawing entries are currently being accepted on the Sunrise Mall website through Oct. 15 for a chance to learn pumpkin carving from Luis Rodriguez, a professional carving artist. Ten winners will be provided with a free pumpkin carving kit of their own, and a gift bag with prizes inside.

Rodriguez will also show off his carving skills during a hands-on demo, scheduled for 12-2 p.m. at the mall’s JC Penny Court on Oct. 21.
