The annual Spooktacular festivities in the shopping centers at Antelope Road and Interstate 80 will take place again this Saturday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activities are scheduled to include kid-friendly games, prizes, face painting, stage performances, health fair booths and nearly 50 vendors, according to the Antelope Crossing Business Association, which co-sponsors the annual event with the City of Citrus Heights. Other attractions will include Midway Carnival games, free raffle tickets and prizes, and a kids costume contest at 2 p.m.
Spooktacular activities and vendor booths are typically located on both sides of Antelope Road near Interstate 80, including in the Raley’s parking lot and across the street outside Stones Casino, extending over to Carl’s Jr. at the corner of Antelope Road and Zenith Drive.
Event spokesperson Dale Covey said several local dignitaries are also expected to take to the stage at 1:30 p.m., including Sacramento County Supervisor Sue Frost, Citrus Heights Mayor Jeff Slowey, and councilmembers Bret Daniels and Albert Fox. State Assemblyman Ken Cooley, or a representative from his office, is also expected at the event.
2017 marks the 9th year the Antelope Crossing Business Association has helped host the Spooktacular event. The Association was formed in 2009 to help support and promote the two commercial and retail shopping centers located off Antelope Road at Interstate 80.
