Latest police logs include reports of possible prostitution activity outside a bank on Lichen Drive, a machete-wielding man roving the streets at 1 a.m., trouble at Stones Casino, and a neighbor reporting a possible “chop shop” on his block.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Sept. 26 – Oct. 2nd.
October 2, 2017: Total of 77 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 10 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 2 burglaries, 4 petty thefts, 1 grand theft, 1 assault reports, and 3 collisions.
9:32 a.m., Suspicious circumstances, Habit Burger on Sunrise Blvd. A small, green, propane canister with a nozzle attached was seen on the side of Habit Burger with a lighter next to it. No one was present at the time, and its purpose was unknown. Disposition listed: “gone on arrival.”
2:25 p.m., Suspicious circumstances, Brook Dale Drive. An ongoing problem with a resident on Brook Dale Drive was reported to police by a neighbor. The resident reportedly had been involved in drug transactions and was suspected of running a “chop shop.” At the time of the report, two cars could be seen parked in front of the house, both without license plates. Disposition listed: advised.
3:59 p.m., Suspicious circumstances, Rusch Park. A man was reportedly seen behind the park’s community center restrooms, “making propositions to young boys,” although the caller “couldn’t elaborate further on what the male [was] saying to them.” The man in question reportedly had prior run-ins with police, according to the caller. Disposition listed: “gone on arrival.”
4:46 p.m., Verbal disturbance, Checkerbloom Way. An argument erupted between a woman and her neighbor on Checkerbloom Way, near Fair Oaks Boulevard. The neighbor then threw a “wooden moose” decoration from her porch at the caller’s house and went back inside her home. The neighbor was reportedly wearing sunglasses and a hat emblazoned with the F-word. Disposition listed: civil problem.
October 1, 2017: Total of 52 incidents listed.

4:28 p.m., Assault, Terraland Ct. A female caller notified police that her brother had strangled her, leaving marks on her throat. She was crying and told police her brother was “still on scene.” Neither party’s age was listed in the police log. Disposition listed: assisted.
6:11 p.m., Suspicious circumstances, El Dorado Savings Bank on Lichen Dr. Police were notified of possible prostitution activity in front of El Dorado Savings Bank. The activity involved a woman in her 20s who was wearing a black jacket and multi-colored tights, with a man circling her in a vehicle who was “possibly her pimp.” Disposition listed: advised.
6:56 p.m., Driving under the influence, Sunrise/Greenback. A caller reported seeing a woman purchase alcohol at BevMo, drink it in the parking lot, and then drive off. A description of the vehicle was provided. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”
September 30, 2017: Total of 73 incidents listed.

1:20 a.m., Suspicious circumstances, Greenback Lane/San Juan Avenue. A heavy-set man without a shirt on was arrested after he was reportedly seen “walking with a machete and hitting the ground with it,” around 1:20 a.m. Disposition listed: arrest.
7:10 a.m., Burglary, Huntington Square Apartments on Huntington Square Ln. A storage unit was reportedly broken into the previous night, resulting in a sewing machine and several other items being stolen. Disposition listed: advised.
1:58 p.m., Assault, San Juan High School. A skirmish broke out at San Juan High School when a woman allegedly threw a water bottle at a referee. “Pushing and shoving in the stands” was also reported. Disposition listed: checks ok.
2:57 p.m., Verbal disturbance, Stones Casino. A “hostile guest” was forced to leave Stones Casino after allegedly making “vague physical threats” to another person. The guest then got into a vehicle and began circling the parking lot, apparently without the intention of leaving the area. They were possibly waiting for another guest who was still in the poker room. Disposition listed: canceled.
