Detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Citrus Heights.
In a news release issued early Wednesday morning, police said officers responded to the 6300 block of Mariposa Avenue, near Greenback Lane, shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday and located a man in his mid-20’s who had been shot in his upper torso area.
Limited information was released about the incident, but police said an investigation is ongoing, with several possible motives and suspects being investigated.
Police said there is “no specific risk to members of the community and it is believed that this was not a random act of violence.”
