A 29-year-old man was arrested by Citrus Heights police Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder, officials said in a news release late Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 10 p.m. on March 21, police said officers responded to a call regarding a man being shot at a residence on the 7000 block of Circlet Way, near Winlock Avenue and Van Maren Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a man in his late 20’s with multiple gunshot wounds.
“Officers immediately began rendering first aid to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive,” police said in the news statement.
Suspect Kyle Thomas Sroka, of Citrus Heights, was arrested by police in connection with the shooting and was booked in the Sacramento County Jail on attempted murder charges. According to online inmate records, Sroka is ineligible for bail.
An investigation of the shooting is still ongoing, but police believe the incident was isolated, with “no specific risk to the members of the community.” Sroka and the man who was shot were “known to each other,” police said.
Witnesses, or those with additional information, are asked to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department’s non-emergency line, at (916) 727-5500.
