Updated March 7, 5:08 p.m. —
Promising to bring 10 days of rides and amusement to Citrus Heights, the annual Spring Carnival is scheduled to once again set up in the Sunrise Mall parking lot from March 10 through 19.

Harry Mason, CEO of Brass Ring Amusements, said the carnival will feature a variety of rides, including a carousel, ferris wheel, and a “Drop Zone” tower. Various game booths will also be featured.

Susie Rodgers, assistant general manager of Sunrise Mall, said the annual event helps kick off the spring season and has been a popular attraction in prior years. She called the carnival “a fun, family-friendly entertainment option” for the mall and Sunrise Marketplace.

An event listing on the mall’s Facebook page says the carnival will be open weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m., and weekends from noon until 10 p.m., weather permitting. Carnival operators are “always hopeful the sun will shine,” but Mason said that bad weather “has plagued” the spring event in recent years.

Ride tickets will run $25 for an all-day wristband, according to Mason, but discounted tickets can be purchased in advance online for $18, with an additional $2 processing fee added for each ticket. Individual tickets can also be purchased separately.

The Fair Oaks-based carnival company regularly tours the state each year, bringing its “Midway of Fun” carnivals to various county fairs and events. The company’s website, midwayoffun.com, says the group has been providing carnival amusement since 1991.
