Citrus Heights police announced the arrest of several juveniles on Tuesday afternoon, following reported robberies of both a pizza delivery driver and another victim at gunpoint.
In a news release, Lt. Jason Russo said police responded to a robbery occurring near Fesler Court around 8 p.m. on Monday, involving a pizza delivery driver. The court is located about a half-mile away from the intersection of Antelope Road and Mariposa Avenue.
Russo said the delivery driver reported “at least two subjects” had taken pizza and a cellphone from him, one of whom pointed a gun at him.
While officers were still investigating the incident, the lieutenant said another robbery was reported near the area of Greenback Lane and Mariposa Avenue. The second incident also reportedly involved several suspects and a gun being pointed at the victim, who was robbed of money.
Shortly after the reported robberies, Lt. Russo said officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop the car. He said “several of the occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the area on foot and two were arrested at the scene.”
Police are not releasing the names of those arrested as they are believed to be minors.
Investigators are currently working on both cases and are gathering evidence and surveillance footage, according to Lt. Russo. Evidence from the previous robbery was also located inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Anyone with information related to either of the robberies are asked to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
