In a short, two-paragraph news release issued Friday, Citrus Heights police said they are currently investigating the Oct. 13 death of a two-year-old child on the 8000 block of Auburn Boulevard.
Police said officers responded to the location around 5:30 p.m. yesterday and rendered medical aid until Metro Fire arrived on scene. The child had been reported as “not breathing.”
Medical personnel continued CPR and the child was taken to the hospital, before being pronounced deceased.

“We are currently in the beginning stages of the investigation,” said Lt. Jason Russo in the news release. “The deceased child and twin sibling have existing medical complications; therefore our investigators are working hard to determine the possible cause of death.”
No other details were released by police.
