New chicken-keeping rules to be voted on by city council next month
Following a recommendation by the planning commission last month, the Citrus Heights city council is set to hear proposed changes on August 11 that would allow chickens to be kept on smaller residential lots. Current regulations do not allow chickens to be kept on residential parcels under 10,000 square feet, but proposed changes would allow up to six hens to be kept on such lots. According to a news update posted on the City’s website, the proposed hen-keeping changes came about after “an increase in the number of requests” from residents who wanted to keep chickens. DoorDash expands restaurant delivery to Citrus Heights
A bay area-based restaurant delivery company announced this week that delivery options are now available for several hundred restaurants in Citrus Heights and the Sacramento region. DoorDash promises delivery in “under and hour” for food from local restaurants like Tokyo Buffet, Elephant Bar and Smashburger, as well as from fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and KFC. On Saturday night, the price listed on the DoorDash website for a Big Mac meal from McDonald’s at Sunrise and Old Auburn was $7.67, with delivery promised in 53 to 63 minutes. In a news release, DoorDash said its standard delivery fee of $5.99 will be at a promotional rate of $1 through July.
Two Citrus Heights stores listed in Wendy’s credit card breach
In an expanded list of over 1,000 stores nationwide, Wendy’s announced on July 7 that both of its Citrus Heights franchise locations were “potentially affected” by a data breach discovered earlier this year. Wendy’s said it has “arranged to offer one year of complimentary fraud consultation and identity restoration services to all customers who used a payment card at a potentially affected restaurant during the time when the restaurant may have been affected.” The company listed local affected stores at 6435 Antelope Rd. and 7983 Greenback Ln., with transaction dates between Dec. 2, 2015 and June 8, 2016.
